Apple offers $15 per user to end 'antennagate'

Apple Inc.    over the weekend promised to pay $15 or give a free "bumper" case to users who complain about problems with reception on their iPhone 4, the version of the popular smartphone that was released in June 2010.

Reports of problems with reception when the device was held a certain way grew into something referred to as "antennagate" and prompted class-action lawsuits.

The company at the time countered the outcry by offering free rubber "bumper" cases that seemed to alleviated the problem, but only offered those for a limited time.
